Bull-Riding @ the Stock Show

I was able to go to the stock show with my parents and Jamie this year, it was a lot of fun! We went on a Monday night and it wasn't too crowded. We walked around a while, and then went to watch the bull-riding. Very cool experience, I'll definitely go again next year!

Jamie and I doing a little bull-riding ourselves... just kidding, this guy was the nicest creature, although it is a weird sensation because their skin moves around and so you feel like you are falling off. He was huge though, we had to climb up a ladder to get on, and then Jamie was happy when the cute cowboy lifted us off.. not me though (wink wink)

Enjoying some pulled pork sandwiches. Not as good as Goodwood, but still pretty good. You can't have a stock show without some good smoked barbecue!

Jamie & I waiting for the bull-riding to begin...

Just a little piece of the action... there were too many photos to put on here! It was pretty entertaining though... a big shout out to the rodeo clowns! Those guys are amazing.. they grab bucking bulls by the horns like its no big deal, while the cowboy runs away like a girl!
We saw some pretty good rides though, almost too good, we were hoping for a few more run-away bulls and what not..

Valentine Tag!!

This is fun get to know you stuff.. so I thought, why not?

What is his name? Rob, Robbie, Roberino, Roberto Calimente... whatever

How long have you been together? well, married? just a little more than 3 years.. best friends? about 4 years

How old is he? almost 26..

Who eats more? Him, easily twice what I eat... (and he still can't gain weight.. life aint fair!)

Who said I love you first? Well, I didn't really say it.. more like got caught writing it..

Who is taller? Rob, by just a little bit

Who sings better? Do either of us sing well?

Who is smarter? I'd say we are a good balance in different areas..

Who does the laundry? Pretty much me, but he'll come help fold when I start to get grumpy about it..

Who pays the bills? Hello? I married an accountant!

Who sleeps on the right side? When looking at the bed? Rob, I don't really know why.. maybe we just crashed that way on our wedding night and it stuck..

Who mows the lawn? I wish we had a lawn to mow! But when we do I already agreed to do the yardwork... in exchange for Rob not making our backyard into a BMX track

Who cooks dinner? Unless we are having gourmet mac n' cheese with hot dogs, then me... but Rob is a good team when it comes to chopping veggies or washing dishes!

Who drives? Unless I'm dropping Rob off for work, he does.

Who is more stubborn? Hmm... probably me.. I hate giving in. Rob does like to be right though (I think its just a male trait!)

Who kissed who first? With a little encouragement from the roommates, he kissed me first!

Who proposed? Rob, and he did a good job! Total surprise!

Who has more friends? Probably me, but we are both kind of home-bodies

Who is more sensitive? Definitely me... I try to rub off on Rob a little..

Who has more siblings? Equal, each have one brother and two sisters

Who wears the pants? Well.. probably Rob, although we pretty much make all decisions together, and we both are strong in different areas, so really maybe we are just a good team

Now 3 random things about me...

1. I really like turtles, I have been collecting them since I was a little girl and have hundreds of figurines and stuffed animals.. I had a painted turtle growing up named 'Roadkill' because my dad found him in the middle of a road. I would love to get another fresh water turtle!

2. I was senior class president at my high school. Unfortunately this means I have a reunion coming up which I am entirely in charge of... (didn't realize that was part of the job until after the election!)

3. Ok, I'll put it... I was born in a toilet.. yep, there.. I said it. Grand beginnings, let me tell you! I just figure, there was no place to go but up!

Now I tag Kendra, Celiese, Sharlyn, Alyse, Aimee & anyone else who looks at our blog!

Snow Thunder... Only in Colorado

I drove through the most bizarre weather this past Friday night. It was probably one of the strangest experiences of my life, making me feel like I was driving through some other world... Here's the story:
On my way to take a friend home (about a 20 minute drive) I was driving through a light drizzley slush... a few minutes later it turned into a light hailstorm, which is odd for February, but understandable because it had been a warm day. It started getting harder and harder and all of a sudden turned into a full-on blinding blizzard, complete white-out. Then the craziest thing happened, a flash of blinding light, followed by a loud boom. This was repeated several times in the next few minutes... yes! I was in a blizzard with a lightning storm. Near my friends house the blizzard slowed down and turned into a fog, and then all of a sudden, as if driving through a time-warp or something, the fog broke and I could see a beautiful starry sky. Looking behind me it looked like a massive electric ball of white rolling over the city. I drove back through it to get home, and the clouds were so dense it looked as bright as noon outside because of the light reflecting off the clouds and the electrical storm flashing over the city.
It was a crazy experience, and apparently, according to meteorologist Mike Nelson, rather rare. Like I said... only in Colorado!
